REDEFINING CREATING
REDEFINING CREATING
If you are intimidated by the words “artist” and “creative,” let’s start with redefining what it means to create! To be an artist doesn’t always mean working in a studio—it means bringing intention, imagination, and soul into your work. It isn’t limited to painting or drawing. Creativity shows up in so many forms, and there’s art woven into professions we don’t always label as “artistic.” It’s a way of moving through the world—of noticing, feeling, transforming.
A chef creates art through flavor, texture, and presentation, but also through intention and emotion. As a therapist, using intuition, language, and emotional space-holding to guide transformation is an art form. Getting creative with human connection is an art form. A tattoo artist uses their craft to bring memory to skin. A teacher can curate an experience.
Art lives in more places than galleries or museums. It’s found in photography, gardening, filmmaking, journaling, ceramics, styling hair/make-up/an outfit, floristry, building a playlist, engineering, or interior designing. Art lives in the hands of a barista who makes a latte look like a wave. If you shape something from your inner world and offer it outward, that’s art.
This space honors all of it—the loud, the quiet, the polished, the imperfect. You don’t need to fit into a traditional mold to make meaningful, beautiful things, & you don’t need a title to claim your creativity. Whether your tools are brushes, spreadsheets, scissors, or spices, your creativity counts. If you feel deeply and make something from it, you’re already an artist.
